Dr. David Grout, Senior Pastor
Pastor David was born in McAllen, Texas, along the Mexican border. He grew up in a Methodist parsonage in the Rio Grande Conference and speaks fluent Spanish. While attending Asbury College in Wilmore, KY, he met Pam Ritchey, a native Kentuckian from Lexington, and they were married in December of 1979. David has served churches in Texas and Kentucky and was District Superintendent of the Bowling Green District before being appointed to Christ UMC in June 2006. Pastor David has Master of Divinity (’88) and Doctor of Ministry Degrees (’99) from Asbury Theological Seminary. David loves traveling, music, sports and being with his son, Michael.
Micheal Holian Pastor Mike was born in Chicago, Illinois where he grew up in a Christian home. He came to Bowling Green in 1963 as a student attending Western Kentucky University. There he met Linda Huenefeld and they were married in December 1967. They have 3 married daughters and 4 wonderful grandchildren. Pastor Mike is a second career pastor after spending 33 years in education, after retiring in 2000 as Dean of Students at Greenwood High School. He earned his BA in 1967 and his MA in 1974. He has served several churches in the Bowling Green District and also serves as Chaplain for the Bowling Green Police Department. |
Marco Ballesteros Pastor Marco was born in Mexico City, Mexico. God has given him the opportunity to serve the Lord since he was 17 in different ways. He has been a Local Pastor in the Louisville District doing Hispanic Ministry from 2003 - 2007. Most recently, on June 29, 2007, the former Jessica Parker and he were married . This appointment as an Associate Pastor is an answer to his prayers. He expects there are exciting things ahead at Christ United Methodist Church. |
